We are a production-based youth theatre company based in Pinjarra, Western Australia, creating opportunities for young people aged 6–18 to experience the excitement of bringing stories to life.
Every production is a new adventure.
Whether performing under the spotlight, designing costumes, operating lighting and sound, creating props, working backstage or helping behind the scenes, every company member plays an important role in creating something extraordinary.
We believe the best theatre is built together.
Our productions are designed to give young people the opportunity to learn real theatre skills in a supportive, encouraging and inclusive environment. Along the way they develop confidence, resilience, creativity, communication and friendships that often last long after the final curtain falls.

Our Story
Every great theatre company begins with an idea.
Up On Stage was born from a simple question:
What if every young person had the opportunity to experience real theatre?
Not just acting classes. Not just performances. But the complete journey of creating a production—from the first script read-through to the final curtain call.
After many years of involvement in community theatre as a performer, director, mentor and playwright, founder Kate King recognised an opportunity to create something different for young people in the Peel region.
A theatre company where performers, backstage crew, lighting, sound, costumes, props and volunteers are all equally valued.
A place where young people could discover confidence, creativity and belonging while creating high-quality productions together.
Up On Stage was founded on the belief that theatre changes lives.
It teaches teamwork, resilience, communication, creativity and responsibility. It creates lifelong friendships and gives young people the confidence to step into challenges both on and off the stage.
Every production welcomes a new company of young people and families. Some will join us for one production, others for many. Whatever their journey, they become part of a community where every role matters and every person belongs.
